Job Description
The Storeroom Clerk accepts all purchased products into the hotel, verifying accuracy of delivery to purchase orders. Maintains storeroom in accordance to standards and rotates stock accordingly. Issues and delivers items to departments in accordance with the requisition policies and procedures. Conducts inventories. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS. Assists the Purchasing Supervisor in the daily operation of the storeroom. Receives and places products in their assigned storeroom location in an organized manner. Checks items received against purchase orders to verify accuracy of the order. Rotates perishable stock so that all food items are fresh. Issues and delivers products from the Storeroom to Departments. Check each item on the requisitions which may involve weighing, counting, verifying each item and checking them against specifications to verify accuracy and approvals for the order. Conducts inventories as directed. Ensure all food, beverage and general merchandise items are listed on inventory lists. SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS. In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company. Participate in hotel/department meetings. Perform any general tasks using standard hotel cleaning products to adhere to health standards. Perform other duties as requested by manager or special guest requests. The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. Must have some knowledge of food, beverage and printing products. Basic mathematical and computer skills to track and receive volumes of deliveries. Ability to read, write and speak the English language fluently in order to complete forms, inventories, read billings, invoices and communicate with co-workers and purveyors. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS EDUCATION. High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Some work experience in related field preferred. LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES . Quality. Dependability. Customer Focus. Oral Comprehension- The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Basic Computer Skills- Using basic computer hardware and software (personal computers, word processing software, internet browsers, etc.) . Customer and Personal Service- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
