Job Description
Use your electrical skills on a mix of routine and reactive repairs, plus general maintenance across the building and its assets. Join our Engineering team and be the go‑to person keeping everything safe, reliable, and running at its best. To repair and maintain all electrical, mechanical, kitchen, heating systems and associated equipment within the hotel in close co-ordination with the Chief Engineer. Repair of hotel lighting and TV systems network. Ability to fault-find in control wiring; competent with electrical schematic diagrams . Ability to fault-find single and 3-phase motors. Fault find and repair commercial equipment and appliances. Repair of data cable and network systems. To inform your manager about equipment deficiencies, relevant stock control and spare parts as necessary. Coordinate and assist all external contractors as necessary. To perform call-out and other duties that may be assigned to you. Respond directly to guest maintenance requests. Carry out assigned tasks by management, including physical duties such as; lifting and transporting furniture and other equipment, climbing ladders, working in enclosed areas and pushing trolleys. Comply with all systems and procedures as laid down by the Chief Engineer, General Manager and Hilton. Ensure communication between Engineering and all other areas of the hotel is professional, efficient and thorough. Previous electrical experience, preferably in a hotel or a similar varied work environment, such as ships, hospitals, or retail businesses. An electrical trade qualification is required. Current knowledge of general maintenance and engineering work. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work without close supervision and within established timeframes. A proactive and strong work ethic. A passion for managing a variety of projects and tasks throughout the day.
