Role Purpose
Responsible for developing and documenting detailed business requirements and supporting documentation for new initiatives and enhancements to existing functionality in assigned IHG applications. Partner with stakeholders and technology teams throughout the project lifecycle to support planning, testing, feedback, and implementation activities for assigned initiatives.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop detailed business requirements and supporting documentation, including scope documents, business justification, and ROI analysis for systems applications supporting business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with external vendors and partners to define system and data exchange requirements and support implementation of agreed program components.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and technology teams to gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements. Translate business needs into user stories with clear acceptance criteria, support backlog refinement and sprint planning sessions, and help prioritize enhancements that improve operational efficiency, customer experience, or revenue generation.
- Design and execute business and user acceptance testing plans to ensure new functionality meets business requirements. Coordinate communication with global users whose systems or processes may be impacted.
- Serve as a key contact for IT resources, external vendors, and business partners regarding program operations, system procedures, and data interpretation between IHG and vendor systems.
- Communicate issues identified during Business Acceptance Testing to key stakeholders and technology teams, as needed.
Key Skills & Experiences
Education
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
Experience
Two to five years of progressive work-related experience in operations, business analysis, and/or systems analysis with demonstrated technical proficiency related to the position.
Technical Skills and Knowledge
- Demonstrated project coordination and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of business operations, systems, and process workflows, with the ability to analyze data and support business decision-making.
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for providing information to clients, vendors, senior management, and staff.
- Effective analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with business stakeholders, technology teams, and external partners across multiple functions and regions.
- Demonstrated initiative to work through issues, seek team support, and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Exposure to AI-enabled tools and an interest in emerging technologies and automation is preferred.
