Job Description
Rosewood Washington, D.C. is looking for a Busser to join our team at CUT Restaurant by Wolfgang Puck! HOURLY RATE:
$12.00 per hour, plus gratuity
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Back Server / Busser is an integral part of our Food and Beverage team and performs essential duties necessary to our daily operations. Primarily, the Busser duties include:
Arriving on time for every shift to help prepare the dining room, bar and lounge for opening, ensuring that there is sufficient silverware in the gueridons, glassware at the bar, sufficient ice behind the bar
Attending our team pre-shift meeting at 5:00pm
Supporting our team in the Main dining room and Bar and Lounge in any capacity
Correctly setting tables to our CUT specifications
Clearing dirty glassware, plateware, and debris from guest tables to dishwashing area
Assist food runners as necessary and during peak hours or with large parties with the running of food to the proper table and seat number
Ensuring guest water glasses are filled at all times
Assisting in the marking of guests for their next course and the clearing of the table in preparation for the next course or the check
Assisting in the folding of service napkins
Assisting in the resetting or replacing of guest napkins when they step away from the table
Assisting in the proper disposal procedures for food and dirty plateware, and ensuring all dirty plateware is properly sorted for the dishwasher
Assisting in the boxing up and bagging of guest food
Between settings, ensuring that tables are properly sanitized and wiped down, and all debris cleaned from the seats and surrounding areas for the next guest, and then communicating with the host in order to reset the table properly and efficiently for the next seating
Respond appropriately to guest requests, and communicate with the service team and management about any guest requests
Greet and thank guests when they enter and leave the dining room
Maintain a clean dining room
Assisting quickly, safely, and efficiently with any unexpected spills or glassware / plateware breakage
Assisting servers with napkin folds and silverware roll ups
Assisting management with tasks as necessary throughout dinner serviceCarry out any other duties as and when required by the Director of Food & Beverage

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience
: Minimum of 1 year experience as a food runner in a hotel or restaurant preferred.
Education
: High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.
Availability
: Flexible availability is required to include days, evenings, weekdays, weekends and holidays.

: Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.

Language
: Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred.
Physical Requirements
: Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting 35 pounds, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.
